Call for watchers to participate in the 150th session of the Executive Board of World Health Organisation (January 2022 (Virtual))
PHM is preparing to watch the 150th session of the Executive Board of World Health Organisation. The session will take place from 24 to 29 January, 2022. The World Health Assembly takes place once every year and the Executive Board meeting usually takes place twice a year. The agenda items of the session will include issues such as public health emergencies: preparedness and response; road map for neglected tropical diseases 2021–2030; the global health sector strategies on HIV, viral hepatitis and sexually transmitted infections; global strategy for tuberculosis research and innovation; and maternal, infant and young child nutrition, to name a few.
Can you attend the WHO-Watch for the Executive Board 150?
Considering the travel restrictions, the WHO-Watch will be an online initiative this time. We are hoping to create a team of watchers who will follow the discussions of Executive Board. The WHO-Watch will also encompass a 6 day preparatory workshop (2-3 hour session each day) before the start of EB, on the 13, 14, 15, 19, 20 and 21 of January 2022. The workshop will help the watchers acquaint themselves with the agenda topics and work on them.
Through Medicus Mundi International, watchers will be able to participate in the EB virtually. They will be expected to work in shifts to utilise time efficiently. Preference will be given to PHM activists and younger people motivated to get involved with PHM.
If you are interested in participating in 150th EB as a watcher, please fill the form below. Last date to apply is 21 December, 2021.
Note: As part of the work, we hope to have a preparatory call on 3 January, 2022 to coordinate the initiative better.
