Months of preparation, virtual and face-to-face meetings, hours on the phone and direct contacts with different local and regional organizations have led to the consolidation of the national circle of PHM Venezuela, which will hold its first meeting from March 1 to 3, 2024, in Maracay, Aragua State, Venezuela, at the headquarters of the Autonomous Service Institute of Higher Studies "Dr. Arnoldo Gabaldon" (SAIAE).
Representatives of Venezuelan community health centers, organizations for the right to health of the South American country will participate in this first meeting to launch the Venezuelan Circle of the PHM, an event in which experiences of transformation of health systems and the approach of interculturality in health policy and university education in indigenous peoples will be discussed.
"We are going to hold the first national meeting of the PHM circle in Venezuela next Saturday, March 2 at the Institute of Higher Studies "Dr. Arnoldo Gabaldon" in the city of Maracay. This event expresses the consolidation of the Venezuelan PHM circle. From here we are preparing to participate in the Fifth People's Health Assembly to be held from April 7 to 11 in Mar del Plata, Argentina, there we are going to assume the approaches of what means the struggle for the right to health, the struggle for the transformation of health systems to make them more supportive, more equitable and fairer," said Dr. Oscar Feo, Coordinator of the PHM Venezuela.
