ALAMES Strengthened at its Congress Held in Buenos Aires, Argentina
The XVII Congress of Social Medicine and Collective Health (Latin American Association of Social Medicine-ALAMES) was held in the facilities of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina, from July 17 to 21, 2.023, with the attendance of more than 1,000 people from 13 Latin American countries. Many of the historical figures of this academic-political-social Association, which next year will be 40 years old and has become the most important theoretical-political reference in health in the American Continent and a reference for the whole world, were present and gave excellent presentations. With the slogan: "Syndemia, reconfiguration in the world and struggle for the Good Living", during five days of intense activity, more than three hundred conferences, exhibitions, work tables, presentation of experiences, meetings of Networks, etc., were held.
